Built by people who understand that generational wealth begins with the ground beneath you.

The Root

It started with a man who found peace in a garden.

Artie Short — Vietnam Veteran — spent his life fishing, cooking, growing, and showing people how to do all of it. His daughter Stephanie watched. And never forgot.

For seventeen years, that observation became the engine behind everything built. A home garden became a community garden. A community garden became an apothecary business and the foundation of an intentional community. Those experiences produced foundational programs and a patent-pending capital readiness methodology that creates a roadmap for others seeking to develop a land-based enterprise and intergenerational wealth.

The Restoration Initiative is where all of it lands. South Carolina. Cooperative land ownership. A working farm and apothecary. A community that builds together, holds knowledge together, and sustains itself on ground that belongs to the people who tend it.

We have joined the Federation of Southern Cooperatives — 58 years of Black land retention, cooperative ownership, and advocacy. We are identifying land. We are ready to build.

We are inviting those who are ready to build alongside us.

Growing beds, hoop houses, seasonal harvests. Food produced on land we own, distributed through networks we build. The Earth Keepers tend it. The community eats from it.

Over the course of a 12-week high-touch engagement, we work closely with your leadership team to understand how your organization operates today and where it needs to go tomorrow. Through discovery, analysis, and strategic development, we build the operational foundation your organization needs to pursue funding with confidence and scale its mission responsibly. We are building a center that carries his name while he is here to see the impact he has made on others through our work.

Before you build with us.

Because dependency is not what we are building. Every tier on this page is priced at market rate for real work — a book, a bootcamp, a full organizational buildout. What you receive has value whether or not you ever hear from us again. That is the difference between charity and exchange, and it is the model we want this Initiative to prove works.
You choose a tier based on what you need or want to fund. You receive something real in return — a manuscript, a bootcamp seat, a full capacity-building engagement. The proceeds from that exchange help capitalize The Restoration Initiative. Nobody is asked to give something for nothing, and nobody receives something without contributing to what is being built.
Yes. Every tier from The Field Operator through The Legacy Partner can be taken for your own organization or gifted to someone whose work you believe in. When you sponsor someone else's seat, you become the grant-maker in their story — and the person or organization you sponsor receives the full engagement in their name.
