We are establishing an intergenerational, land-based cooperative enterprise — rooted in South Carolina. We envision community where we learn, grow, build, teach, and trade fairly in the marketplaces we create. We value our land and the land supports us. We value our wisdom, and that wisdom carries us. Built by people who understand that generational wealth begins with the ground beneath you.
Named in honor of
Artie Short — Father, Veteran, Uncle, Husband, Grandfather, Brother, Friend
Artie Short — Vietnam Veteran — spent his life fishing, cooking, growing, and showing people how to do all of it. His daughter Stephanie watched. And never forgot.
For seventeen years, that observation became the engine behind everything built. A home garden became a community garden. A community garden became an apothecary business and the foundation of an intentional community. Those experiences produced foundational programs and a patent-pending capital readiness methodology that creates a roadmap for others seeking to develop a land-based enterprise and intergenerational wealth.
The Restoration Initiative is where all of it lands. South Carolina. Cooperative land ownership. A working farm and apothecary. A community that builds together, holds knowledge together, and sustains itself on ground that belongs to the people who tend it.
We have joined the Federation of Southern Cooperatives — 58 years of Black land retention, cooperative ownership, and advocacy. We are identifying land. We are ready to build.
We are inviting those who are ready to build alongside us.
A multi-structure property in South Carolina. Each piece sustains the others. None of it depends on a single funder, program, or system to survive.
Growing beds, hoop houses, seasonal harvests. Food produced on land we own, distributed through networks we build. The Earth Keepers tend it. The community eats from it.
Small-batch, handcrafted botanical soap and skin care. Clean ingredients, honest formulation, seventeen years of practice. A production enterprise rooted in the land it grows from.
Gathering spaces, and the model of a live-work-grow environment for people who are seeking to build meaningful lives on their own terms.
Patent-pending capital readiness infrastructure for Black and brown farmers, landowners, cooperatives, and nonprofits. The curriculum is licensed to the Foundation and available for program delivery.
A growing digital knowledge commons — videos, tools, e-books, recipes, best practices, and contributed wisdom from practitioners across the cooperative network. Also technical assistance, income diversification, capital strategies, and curated grant opportunities from FundReady.
Documented systems so the next community can build their own version without starting from zero. The intention from the beginning has been to build something replicable so we can restore a way of life and secure meaningful marketplace opportunities.
He spent his life fishing, cooking, growing, and showing people how. That presence — quiet, consistent, unglamorous — produced a daughter who built an ecosystem.
We are building this center while he is here to see the impact he has made on others through our work.
Whoever replicates this model dedicates their building to their own hero. That is how culture travels — not through branding, but through naming what matters.
The Restoration Initiative is the proof of what becomes possible when one person in a lineage decides to break the cycle and build something that lasts.
This is not a donation. It is a structured exchange — everyone leaves with something of real value. Every offering on this page is priced at market rate. If you purchased these services elsewhere, you would expect to pay the same or more. The difference is that here, your investment does two things at once: it strengthens your own organization — or one you choose to sponsor — and it helps build The Restoration Initiative. This is how the model works. Not dependency. Reciprocity.
Choose one of Stephanie's published works — Reboot, Covenant Breaking Prayers, or Dethroning Fatherlessness (available upon release) — as your introduction to the ideas that inspired The Restoration Initiative.
As the Living Resource Library grows, you will also receive early updates highlighting new resources, field notes, and milestones made possible through the community that is building this work together.
Your contribution helps build the Living Resource Library — a growing collection of practical tools, educational resources, recipes, videos, and documented knowledge that will be shared across the cooperative network and continue expanding for years to come.
You become one of the people who helped build this from the beginning. The book simply commemorates that decision.
Working alongside Stephanie in a live cohort, we build your business enterprise into a fundable, operational asset together — diversified revenue streams, a risk reduction framework, a growth strategy, a talent plan for who your business needs next, and the systems to apply for and manage capital with confidence. Take it for your own business, or sponsor an aspiring business owner who is ready to build. When you invest in someone else's seat, you become the grant-maker in their story.
Funds the development of a resource stack — the knowledge, skills, and tools to optimize resources, steward responsibly, delegate clearly, perform at a high level, and scale when ready. You walk away with a documented roadmap, implementation plans, KPIs, and measurement systems — a closed-loop system that gives a small outfit access to the same tools corporations use to perform and scale.
Working alongside Stephanie in a live cohort, we build your nonprofit's fundable and operational infrastructure together — streamlined program evaluation and impact reporting, an operations plan, your organization's intelligence organized into fundable assets, diversified revenue streams, a risk reduction framework, and a talent strategy for the mission ahead. Bring it to your own organization, or gift it to a mission-driven leader whose work needs this foundation.
Funds the development of a resource stack — the knowledge, skills, and tools to optimize resources, steward responsibly, delegate clearly, perform at a high level, and scale when ready. You walk away with a documented roadmap, implementation plans, KPIs, and measurement systems — a closed-loop system that gives a nonprofit access to the same tools corporations use to perform and scale.
Working alongside Stephanie, we build your dual-entity ecosystem together — a nonprofit and a for-profit structured to work in tandem, the way ours does. You leave with both entities organized into fundable, operational assets: diversified revenue plans across the structure, a risk reduction framework, a talent strategy for each entity, and the systems to apply for and manage capital and grants across both sides.
Funds the development of a resource stack — the knowledge, skills, and tools to optimize resources, steward responsibly, delegate clearly, perform at a high level, and scale when ready, across two connected entities instead of one. You walk away with a documented roadmap, implementation plans, KPIs, and measurement systems for both sides. Includes early access to the Co-Op Blueprint as it is built, full Living Resource Library access, and ongoing grant-related technical assistance. You become part of the community by default — because you are now operating the same model you learned to build.
A complete, done-for-you organizational capacity buildout for a nonprofit that is ready to grow but lacks the internal time or expertise to build the infrastructure itself.
Over the course of a 12-week high-touch engagement, we work closely with your leadership team to understand how your organization operates today and where it needs to go tomorrow. Through discovery, analysis, and strategic development, we build the operational foundation your organization needs to pursue funding with confidence and scale its mission responsibly. By the end of the engagement, the organization receives a comprehensive infrastructure designed specifically for its mission, including grant readiness, organizational architecture, operational documentation, financial and administrative systems, diversified revenue strategies, implementation roadmaps, and the tools needed to measure and communicate impact.
You may invest in your own organization, or sponsor another nonprofit whose mission you believe deserves that same foundation.
Your investment strengthens two organizations at once. One nonprofit receives the operational infrastructure it needs to pursue sustainable growth, while the proceeds help establish The Restoration Initiative — a permanent land-based learning community where entrepreneurs, growers, nonprofits, and future generations will come to learn, build, and create lasting economic opportunity.
It is the highest-impact engagement we offer because its impact extends well beyond a single organization. It equips one mission to thrive while helping lay the foundation for another.
These books represent the philosophy and methodology behind The Restoration Initiative. They are available individually through Amazon for anyone who wants to engage with the ideas directly — and they are the introduction included with The Contributor tier above.
Organizational and personal transformation for nonprofits, teams, and individuals ready to begin again with clarity and intention. The book you hand someone who knows they need a reset but does not know where to start.
Spiritual tools for breaking generational cycles — written for those who understand that restoration begins in the spirit before it takes root in the soil. For communities rooted in faith and in the long arc of healing.
How the system replaced God with government — and what becomes possible when presence is restored. The thesis underneath everything being built here.
Contributors at every tier receive periodic updates showing what their investment produced — enterprises launched, participants funded, knowledge shared, land acquired. Outcomes, not reports.
We track what participants build after they leave — enterprise survival, funding secured, jobs created, income growth, community contribution. The program is the beginning.
We are building a center that carries his name while he is here to see the impact he has made on others through our work.
We have the land in our sights. We have joined the Federation of Southern Cooperatives. We have the methodology, the curriculum, the ecosystem structure, and seventeen years of proof.
What we need now is the community that believes what we believe — that land held cooperatively, knowledge shared freely, and enterprises built without dependency produce something that sustains itself across generations.
